Protest on Quechan land |

VIDEO BY TERRY KETRON/THE SUN Protesters gathered on the future site of a hotel and casino, being built by the Quechan Indian Tribe near the Andrade port of entry into Algodones. The Prettybird family and supporters believe the hotel/casino is being built on sacred ground. Protesters set up a 'sweat lodge' to pray in demonstration of construction at the site. Quechan Tribal Police removed the protestors at the request of the Quechan Tribal Council. Related article: |
