The Yuma Desalting Plant is in the process of a 90 day trial run at 10 percent capacity and invited officials to tour the facility Tuesday.

The plant was completed in 1992 but only operated briefly because of high river flows. There has been renewed interest in operating the plant with the continuing drought in the Southwest and increasing demand for water brought by development of the region.
