Yuma Fire Department firefighters use a ladder truck to extinguish a two-story house fire at 2238 S. 43rd Drive Thursday evening after being dispatched to the scene at 7:20 p.m.

Three children escaped the fire. The children, ages 8,11, and 13, were home alone when they noticed smoke and flames coming from the upstairs area, according to YFD spokesman Mike Erfert.
